Well hello there!

So it's been awhile, maybe? Yes, a long time since I have visited my blog. I miss writing and I know I'll miss it even more when the kids are older and I can't remember some of the sweet details about their little years. (I am sorry to Charlie who has not had his life documented religiously like his older sister. It's called being the second child. I love you, son.)

(This is a glimpse of a typical breakfast with Charlie. Milk in his big boy bottle, blankets, and whatever he feels like eating for the day. Extremely picky eater!)

One of our favorite things lately is going to McFarland Park and letting the kids play. They love to throw rocks in the river. I absolutely love where we live!

Andrew and I took Audrey on her first camping trip in April. We went to his Granny's farm in Addison, AL. We just purchased our first family tent! *Hopefully* there will be many fun adventures ahead of us.

Audrey and I slept in the tent together and Andrew slept in our new bridge hammock for the first time. He prefers hammocks over tents, so for this trip he brought it with him.

I prefer my queen size air mattress, pillows, and lots of blankets. It was cold that night!! Audrey did great too. She was a little scared when we first got ready for bed, but was fine and asleep in about 30 seconds after being zipped up in her sleeping bag.

I had the privilege of waking up to this beautiful view.

Andrew cooked us a yummy breakfast.

Later that morning we went hiking. Audrey was a trooper! She did minimal complaining, although she is a diva princess and that side of her really started coming out towards the end of our hike.

On the way home, my "No-Napping-Under-Any-Circumstances" child was out cold. She is the sweetest little girl.

We are really enjoying our summer so far! It is heating up quickly so we are trying our best to find some refreshing activities.

A little splash pad fun...

Charlie is officially down to one nap each day. Yay! That sweet baby...

If we are ever in the car anywhere near nap time, he is going to fall asleep. Thankfully I can easily move him from the van to his bed and he will not wake up. (Audrey has never done that!) And for those of you who remember our first 9 months of Charlie's life, he was not good at sleeping! Now he is a *pro* sleeper. Whoo hoo! It took him awhile to figure it out...you know, like sleep all night and maybe nap longer than 30min at a time... but he did about a year ago and it's been so wonderful. I'm so thankful!

Audrey went to Early Arts preschool again this past year. She absolutely loved it! We have made so many great friends there.

She wrote this sweet letter to her teacher all by herself to give to her on the last day of school. She told me what she wanted to say, and I told her which letter to write next. She never hesitated or asked for help with how to write the letters. She has learned leaps and bounds this year academically and she also has become much more social as well. We sure are missing Mrs. Amanda and all of Audrey's school friends this summer!

(Last day of preschool - Grade K3)

Charlie got another hair cut a couple of weeks ago. He HATES getting his hair cut. And that is an understatement. I cannot contain him by myself anymore, so I take my dad with me. Haha! I told our sweet hair dresser to cut it as short as possible without buzzing it off completely. Maybe we won't need one for awhile...I hope. He cried the whole way home last time and I sent him straight to the bath. Bless that baby.

(Hair cut day - This smile is after he got a nice, long nap!)

Pictured below is Charlie getting to enjoy his first ever slushie! Of course he loved it. I love that mischievous little look on his face. We can usually enjoy a good Target shopping trip...as long as it's quick! Ha!

And another first for us this summer... First family boat ride! And also very first boat ride for both kids. As you can see below, Charlie was not happy. He hated the life jacket. (Why he is in long sleeves, I have no idea. I guess it was semi-cool a few weeks ago?? I'm sure he was burning up. Haha.)

And last but not least...we celebrated 7 years of marriage at the end of May! Whoo hoo! Life is fun and crazy. I love my people.

More posts to come!
