29 weeks

Today I am 29 weeks. Whoo! Baby is about 2.5 lbs and a little over 15 inches long. Here is a picture from Friday. It was our 5th wedding anniversary.

Audrey stayed with my parents Friday night and we went out to eat and then went to see Iron Man 3. We woke up early Saturday morning to go to some yard sales. When we were dating, we went to yard sales all the time. I am not really sure why, except that it was fun. Now the only reason I would go to yard sales is because I actually really need something. We decided to look for nursery furniture. We have upcycled so much of our furniture, why not do it again? We feel this is the best idea for our budget. Plus, it would be Andrew (not me!) tackling this project. Woot!

I think we had been going from yard sale to yard sale for almost two hours when we came upon this one particular house. It was a JUNKER. I told Andrew I did not even want to get out of the car, but he insisted. This sweet lady had a large storage shed behind her house. It was full of furniture. I noticed in the very back a tall dresser. I asked her if it was for sale, even though I could only see the top drawer because there were so many chairs stacked in front of it. She said yes, and that she wanted to sell it with the other dresser beside it for $100. I got really excited. We need two dressers - a changing table and a taller dresser for storage. We maneuvered through the furniture to get to these two pieces. Although the finish is obviously worn, these are two great pieces of furniture. With a little TLC, they will look great! She also said they were antiques. Andrew said his Granny has furniture like this almost identical. Andrew thought this was a good deal, so we bought them. You have to know my husband - he has built houses on and off for over ten years. He knows if stuff is in good shape or not. I don't think I could ever buy furniture without his advice. He is such a perfectionist...I knew if he thought this was a project worth pursuing, then we should do it. Plus, there was another lady waiting to see the furniture if we were not going to get it. We felt like we got to it just in time! I think another neat thing to point out is that I prayed and asked God for the furniture we needed. I asked Him that we find it on that day at the yard sales. Not only did we find it, but it is better than I had expected! God is really good. We are so excited about this project!

This bottom picture is the changing table and it also comes with a mirror. I just forgot to take a picture of the mirror. I love the hardware!

Now that we have his furniture, I really have to get serious about colors and bedding. We have chosen not to use a bumper this time. I might not even buy bedding, and just get some cute sheets. His room is already blue - like a robin's egg blue. (It was that color when we moved into the house.) We have decided not to paint the room and will decorate around this blue color. I like it ok, but of course not my first choice. I think we have decided to decorate in white and gray and accent with the blue and another color. I hope we can get the nursery finished this next month. 11 weeks or less to go....I really don't want to be doing last minute things when I am HUMUNGOUS. Oh I dread that. It's so miserable. Yikes......
