6 Months Old

Happy 6 months to this sweet little boy! He is changing, growing, and learning so quickly. Around the beginning-mid February, Charlie started sitting up on his own! (About 5 1/2 months old) He will still not roll over, so when he does end up on his back or belly, he gets really upset because he wants to get back up and play. He is so funny. I think crawling is right around the corner...

Charlie has made so much progress this past month with his sleeping and his reflux has improved tremendously. It literally happened almost overnight.

Audrey came down with RSV on Valentine's weekend. Bless her heart, she was so terribly sick. We thought Charlie might also have based on his symptoms, but we were WRONG. He came down with it the next weekend. He was so sick that it scared us.

We kept in touch with the on-call nurse because he was borderline going to the hospital. Thankfully we didn't have to take him. However, in the process of being sick, he decided he hated being swaddled! I think it was because he was coughing so much that the blanket must have restricted his breathing and possibly caused him pain around his chest. I imagine he was probably pretty sore from all the coughing. So miracle #1 was we got rid of the swaddle blankets.

Miracle #2: Charlie decided he did not want to sleep in his Rock N Play any more! I think he finally wanted to stretch out. So we switched him to his bed and let him sleep on a flat pillow.

(Ok, a lot of pictures with the breathing treatment going on. Ha. He's so cute.)

Miracle #3: He rarely spits up any more! I really cannot explain that one. He has improved so much since we started taking him to the chiropractor, but still wasn't completely healed from it. He does still spit up but not often and has gone days in a row without spitting up. We are in shock. ;)

When he finally started getting better after RSV and not coughing and being so congested, he slept probably 5-6 nights in a row completely through the night! Let's just call that miracle #4. He has since started waking during the night, but not very much. He is so mobile at night now, he slides off of his pillow and loses his paci. He cries because he wants to be back on his pillow with his paci. We are starting to let him find his paci on his own, which most of the time he does find it. We have probably 5-6 pacis in his bed so it is easier to find. Hopefully he will quit doing that soon and learn to sleep without the pillow. Either way, I'll take it. It's so much better than it was even just 2 weeks ago.

Here is my sweet Audrey at Charlie's age now.

I am so proud of him. He is absolutely the sweetest little boy and just melts my heart in a million pieces. Even when he is crying, we can make him laugh. Seriously!

Charlie loves playing with toys and watching TV. He is easily entertained. He also loves his big sister and laughs at her all the time. Audrey is starting to take more interest in him since he is interacting more and sitting up. She loves to bring him toys and sometimes she asks to "hold" him. She likes the attention he gives her.

Charlie is SO ticklish! I probably torture him with tickles. He is so funny and laughs so hard. It is the cutest thing! I'll have to find a video to post of his giggling. Each time we have taken him to the chiropractor, he always giggles through the whole adjustment. I guess it tickles him!

Charlie is still not on a sleep schedule. I do write everything down, so we are probably on more of a schedule than I realize, but it doesn't feel like one. He is starting to drop that last cat nap of the day, so he usually is in bed by 5:30-6pm.

He is eating 1-2 jars of baby food each night, and today we officially started adding a lunch to his daily routine. Today it had been 4 hours since his last bottle, so I gave him 2 jars of peaches. LOVES IT. He usually eats a 4-5oz bottle every 2-4 hours.

He is waking usually anywhere from 5am or later. Hopefully we are moving past the 4am hour. :)

Aren't these two sweeties just the cutest things you ever did see????? Oh how I love them.

Kiss kiss to my babies. xoxo.
