Copy Cat

I should be working on my upcoming yard sale for this weekend, but all I feel like doing is blogging. :)

Lately I keep thinking back to, "This time last year I was ________". Fill in the blank with whatever it may have to do with being 37 weeks pregnant and counting - big, humongous, swollen, couldn't see my feet, couldn't breathe well, couldn't sleep much, and the list goes on and on. Wow that was a rough third trimester, although I had no serious issues, praise God! Spending your last month being pregnant in the entire month of August was not a picnic to say the least. But I did it, and it was all worth it for sure!!

Party planning is coming along great! I got the invitations ordered today and have started on my crafts for the party. Audrey's party is themed in the color yellow. I also got her dress in the mail today. Isn't it adorable?

Audrey started being a copy cat this week. She has learned to wave and clap after you start doing it. She will also start to copy what we call her "sputter bug" sound. Basically, you close your lips and blow out air. It makes a sputtering sound, I guess. Not sure how to explain it! I wish I had it on video. She used to do this a lot when she was 6-7 months old. I do have a video of her doing it at that age. (It is in the blog archives if you are that curious!) It is so fun! Twice now she has come to me waving on her own, as if she wants to play the "waving" game with me. It is so adorable. Now, every time we have tried to show off her new tricks she refuses to do it. Isn't that the way it goes? She did clap for Grandmommy today, but she hasn't waved yet for anyone except me and Andrew. It is not a hand wave, she waves with her whole arm. But I guess she learned it that way! Hence, "copy cat".

Audrey is not walking yet, but I believe the day is soon to come. I have always said she would be by Thanksgiving, even though I thought it would be sooner. Who knows with this little one. She went from being a cute and chunky bump-on-a-log at 8 months old to a full blown crawler at 8 1/2 months old. You can tell she has thinned out since those sit-and-play days. :)

Audrey woke up yesterday with a cold. By mid morning, she had a fever so I called the doctor. We ended up going in to see the doc that afternoon. After waiting an hour and a half, we finally were seen. Thankfully her ears looked great and we left with two prescriptions. I can tell Audrey is already feeling better today. She is not 100%, but she is better. I hate to see my sweet baby not feeling good.

This is Audrey's new toy chest that her Daddy made her. Isn't it cute? :) She is very proud of it.

Below, Audrey has written on her face with a pen. It is around her lips. It is hard to see in the picture, but it is there. She loves to play with pens, but I also have to keep a close eye on her because I don't want her writing on my stuff or herself. This time she started writing on herself before I caught her in time...sneaky little girl! She had a mark on her leg that took several days to come off. She will scream at you if you take her toys away from her that she REALLY wants to play with. Can we say rotten?  I don't always let her get away with that, but I wish it wasn't so darn funny. ;) Cute as a button.

I am in the process of teaching Audrey a few different words in sign language. She likes to scream out when she wants something, preferably food. We are working on "more" and "all done". Hopefully she will get the hang of it soon! Andrew finds it very amusing. I am at least going to try it....I know it works!

Night night, Little Girl. Mommy loves you. Always.
