Orange Beach: DAY 2

Day 2

We woke up after a great night's sleep and got ready to go to the beach. Audrey slept all night, yay! We ate breakfast, put on sunscreen and swimsuits, and headed out the door. I bought Audrey some water shoes so she would not hurt her feet if she stepped on something sharp at the beach.

When we got to the sand she was confused but doing ok. This was her second time at the beach, but she was only 12 months old her first visit....so of course she doesn't remember anything about the beach. As we got closer to the ocean, she was getting a little scared. Andrew and I walked her down to the water, and she hated it. We put her feet in the water, but she wanted away from it quickly. Once she started walking on the sand again, the sand was really sticking to her legs and feet. Her shoes were wet so the sand was like glue on her skin. Andrew was afraid the sand was going to rub her feet raw with her shoes on, so he made her take off her shoes. Audrey was not happy about taking her shoes off. She HATED walking on the sand. She would just sit in her chair and whine. After a couple of hours on the beach - we did our very best to entertain her - we headed to the pool. We do not have a baby pool here, but the pool has very large, long steps for her to play on. She really enjoyed that.

Audrey managed to sit on the bottle of sunscreen and it went everywhere. She had fun applying it on herself.

She did a good job, huh?!

After her nap we went back to the beach. Andrew let her keep her shoes on this time and she was much, much happier. She enjoys her sand toys, especially the shovels.

Andrew has managed to start his book that he bought for the trip, but I have yet to open mine. Any free time to myself, which will probably not be very much,  I will probably pull out my iPod first before the book. One of my favorite things in the whole world is sitting on the beach doing nothing. Adding my "BEACH" playlist I made for this trip adds an extra bonus of happiness to the mix. :-) I got to squeeze in thirty minutes of beach time while Audrey took her nap today. Andrew and I were going to take turns, but she only slept an hour so he didn't make it down there.

Tonight we went to the Shrimp Basket for dinner. It was really good. I really don't eat seafood, but Andrew loves shrimp so we went there for him. We went to WalMart after dinner and bought our main bulk of groceries. Excited about tomorrow! My cousin Clark is getting married in Foley. We will get to spend a half day on the beach and then we will get ready and go to the wedding tomorrow afternoon. Fun!! Ready to see all of my family.

View from our condo balcony. Pretty!!
